SAN
DIEGO, CA – November 14, 2007 – www.gphusqvarna.com,
Rounds 9 and 10 of the AMA Supermoto
Championship held at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, CA were a success for the LA
Fuel GP Husqvarna team. The three-day event started Friday, November
9th with the Amateur day where 15-year old team rider, Joey
Pascarella, dominated the event winning all three of the events he was entered
in – 250, 450, and open classes.
Saturday started the pro events,
where for the second race event in a row, team rider Adam Cini dominated
qualified timing in both 250 and Unlimited classes. Then followed up with a
podium 3rd place finish in the 250 main, and a impressive win in the
Unlimited main with team member, David Baffeleuf, finishing
2nd.
Baffeleuf then finished the 450 main
in 9th place, with some discomfort from his previous hand injury, he
decided to enter only the Unlimited class for Sunday’s
races.
Sunday’s qualifying was a similar
event with Cini taking fastest time by almost a full second, and although he
improved his 250 result with a solid second in the main event battling for the
lead throughout the entire race, the Unlimited race did not go his way. Cini had
a fall in the heat race and was gridded near the back of the pack then stalled
the bike in the main.
The pro races ended with the team
taking 1 victory and three separate podiums – a solid end to the season.
However, their story doesn’t end there. Promoter Troy Lee, put on a celebrity
team race at the end of the pro races, and the team put paired amateur Supermoto
racer, Joey Pascarella with road racer, Ben Attard (a close friend of Adam
Cini), for the event, and the duo dominated the event on a mostly standard SMR
450, to finish the weekend in style.
The team would again like to thank
all of its sponsors for their support throughout the season: Husqvarna USA, LA
Fuel, Dunlop Tires, Beringer Brakes, Sidi, Maxima, Marzocchi, FMF, STM, Sunoco
Fuel, AXO, Drive Systems, Dirt Digits, K&N, SME and TAG
Metals.
