Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Rickey Gadson Finishes Second in Gainesville
IRVINE, Calif. (November 14, 2007) – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Rickey Gadson piloted his ZX™-14 to the runner-up position in the Super Street class during the final round of the AMA ProStar National Championship Series in Gainesville, Fla. Gadson also finished second overall in the Super Street class championship standings.
Earning the second best qualifying time prior to race day, Gadson knew he had to win in order for a chance at the championship. He made it through four rounds and ended up in the finals for the fifth time this year.
During the finals, Gadson posted the fastest reaction time of day with a .05, but ended the race in the runner-up position.
“We went into this final race of the year with an outside chance at winning the championship,” said Gadson. “Unfortunately our competition went one round further than it took for us to win it. I know next year with the ZX-14, I will be coming out strong to earn my ninth championship.”
