Note: This is a little old but our European Editor, Tom Nash, thought we should run it anyway as the DB7 that is in the photos is a beautiful bike and one never gets tired of looking at beautiful bikes.
From Bimota
Rimini, Italy – November 1, 2007 – Bimota holds a unique position
in the history of sport motorcycles.
The Emilia Romagna region of Italy has always been the heart of
Italian motorcycle development and manufacture. Design and engineering in
this region, ‘terra di motore’ (the land of engines), has always been
fertile ground for the development of so many the new technical ideas and performance advancements of Italian motorcycles. Bimota entered the fray in the early 70’s with innovative
solutions to chassis design most notably that of trellis frames, hub center steering
and extreme attention to component detail.

The engines utilized were directly acquired from almost all of the
top world producers. During the years Bimota production included engines
from and Honda, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Ducati, BMW, Gilera, and Kawasaki, most of which were initially developed as race only
bikes. The incredible passion of the three founders Bianchi, Morri and
Tamburini produced race bikes that carried such great names as Ferrari,
Tardozzi, Mertens and Falappa to victories on the world stage.
Technical innovation, handcrafting and unrestricted component
quality have always been the primary directive and soul of Bimota. Since the
rebirth of Bimota in 2003, these priorities remain at core of the companies
philosophy and take form in the new generation models DB5, DB6 Delirio and incredible Tesi 3D. Unique in the world of motorcycling, Bimota
continues to offer the motorcycle world technically advanced TESI 3D omega
frame with ultra stable hub center steering.

The latest chapter in Bimota development is the new DB7. Powered
by the incredible Ducati 1098 Testastretta Evoluzione engine, the DB7
matches the performance of the Ducati Superbike engine with the innovative
Bimota
chassis concepts. The DB7 introduces a beautiful oval tube hybrid
trellis frame, stout light alloy mounting plates and a structural carbon
fiber rear subframe and a new Bimota progressive rear suspension. Bimota technology and innovation has never been more beautiful.
