Rome, GA: Effective immediately, all Pirelli sponsor requests from AMA racers must be forwarded to Christoph Knoche at Pirelli Tires LLC, 100 Pirelli Dr., Rome, GA 30161. All sponsor requests for regional racing series must be forwarded directly to each series local Pirelli tire racing vendor.

Already Knoche has orchestrated Pirelli’s sweeping the Daytona 200 and earning 21 podiums in the AMA Superbike Series in 2007, marking it as Pirelli’s best year ever in professional road racing in America. Knoche said, “I came here two years ago with the mission of taking Pirelli to the top. Having already swept the podium at America’s most famous motorcycle race is more than I could have hoped for. And with just our few riders we were on the podium at nearly every AMA event, proving we have the right product, the right teams and the right combination of support from Pirelli’s SBK development.”

Pirelli Motorcycle Tire is applying its spec-tire R & D in World Superbike to power its first concerted challenge for professional championships in America’s AMA Superbike Series. By signing the M4 EMGO Suzuki team in 2005 and Attack Kawasaki in 2007, Pirelli established an alliance with top-running factory-satellite teams assisting in the development of tires for American racecourses.

After three races in 2006, Christoph Knoche took over as Pirelli’s AMA tire technician. Knoche reassessed Pirelli’s development program, thrusting the effort quickly forward, putting the M4 EMGO Suzuki riders on the podium a total of 14 times by season end, earning the team’s riders second and third in the AMA Supersport Championship, and fourth in the AMA Superstock Championship. By the end of 2006 he was offered the job as the North American Racing Manager and he took the challenge.

To assist Knoche, Pirelli is looking for an experienced person join Pirelli’s team, filling the position of Road Racing Technician. Applications, for those interested, must be sent to:
