After
signing with BMW Motorrad to ride the new F800s for the 2008 season, BMW wasted
no time in putting me to the test in the form of a demo at the annual Dealer
Meeting in front of all the corporate BMW big wigs.
The event
was held in San Diego on top of the USS Midway, a retired
aircraft carrier. The show actually took place on the flight deck of the ship
and along with the extremely slippery and dew covered surface, the organizers
did it up right with fog machines, strobe and ground lights, a DJ, and of
course the #1 MC in the country, Thomas Evans.
For 20
minutes I was able to tear up some US Government property to impressively wild
cheers from the BMW folks. In the end, with the taillight smashed out of the
bike, I spent close to an hour signing autographs, talking bikes, and booking
shows.
As usual,
the Shift gear looked hot as did my Scorpion helmet, and the Maxxis tires
worked well on the difficult surface. Stay tuned to CycleSpace.com to find out
when you can catch me at a BMW dealership near you!
