Suzuki and AMA to give away two new motorcycles at 2008 events

PICKERINGTON, Ohio - Both road and off-road riders who attend some of the most popular and distinctive American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) events in 2008 will have more than a good time--they'll have the chance to win two new Suzuki motorcycles.

The AMA and American Suzuki Motor Corporation are pleased to announce that two new motorcycles will be given away as part of Suzuki's three-year title sponsorship for the AMA Suzuki Signature Events series and the AMA Suzuki National Dual Sport Trail Ride Series.

Several lucky riders have already won a Suzuki DR-Z400S in recent years in the annual Ride and Win™ drawing that is part of the National Dual Sport series. Now in its 15th year with Suzuki sponsorship, this popular series highlights some of the finest and most challenging dual-sport rides across the country. These multi-day rides pit the participants' skills against the terrain and the elements over courses that can be as long as 500 miles.

"Since Suzuki began its partnership with the AMA, we've more than doubled the number of events," said AMA Road Riding Manager Dave Hembroff. "The Suzuki name has become synonymous with this type of riding, and every rider who participates in the AMA Suzuki National Dual Sport Trail Ride Series is eligible to win the DR-Z."

On the road-riding side, Suzuki has stepped up to sponsor the AMA Suzuki Signature Events that are part of the AMA Premier Touring Series, and one lucky participant will win a new Suzuki streetbike in 2008.

"AMA Suzuki Signature Events are a collection of unique, high-profile road-riding events," said Hembroff.. "Thousands of riders plan their entire season around them." Events for 2008 include Arizona Bike Week, the Republic of Texas Rally, the Killington Classic and Las Vegas Bike Fest.

"We only select 10 events a year for this series, including up to two high-profile charity rides," said Hembroff. For 2008, the Divas for a Cure organization's Real Divas Ride for breast cancer awareness will be one of those charity events.

As in the Suzuki National Dual Sport Series, participants at Suzuki Signature Events will be able to enter to win a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle.

"AMA Recreational Riding is proud that American Suzuki has committed to these two great series for the next three seasons," Hembroff said. "With such a wide range of quality motorcycles, Suzuki has a bike for every kind of rider."
