Plenty of
Two-Wheel Excitement at Infineon Raceway,
May 16-18
SONOMA, Calif.
(May 9, 2008) – If it races on two wheels, you’re
likely to see it at Infineon Raceway during the Kawasaki AMA Superbike
Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 16-18. In addition to a Superbike
double-header and a full slate of AMA Pro Racing, the weekend will also feature
Supermoto USA, SBFreaks Street Freestyle and
new for 2008, motocross.
There are a variety of promotions,
media events and charitable activities planned to keep spectators and fans

Grape Crushers Run with the Bostroms
Join freestyle motocross rider Carey
Hart and SPEED TV’s Jason
Britton, as well as Yamaha riders Eric and Ben Bostrom, Petaluma High School graduates, for the
3rd annual Grape Crushers Run on Thursday, May 15. The “Boz Bros.”
and company will leave from Infineon Raceway and lead the way through the twists

Supermoto
USA, SBFreaks Street
Freestyle and Geoff Aaron Trials
More than 300 competitors are
expected for Supermoto USA racing at the Infineon Raceway Karting Center, where
$5,000 in cash in prizes will be on the line, while top stunt riders will battle
at the SBFreaks Street Freestyle Show in the Turn-10 island. You can also catch
multi-time AMA Trials champion Geoff Aaron in the paddock demonstrating his
amazing skills.
Catch Carey Hart
in Supermoto
Carey Hart, one of the world’s best
known freestyle motocross riders, will be at Infineon Raceway. If you’d like to
catch a glimpse of this star rider, head up to the Infineon Raceway Karting Center. He’ll be a competitor in the
Supermoto USA racing action on the world-class 16-turn kart
track.
Motocross Returns
to Infineon Raceway
The hills behind Turn 7 will come
alive with more than 30 classes of motocross competition throughout the weekend,
including 50cc, professional and vintage racing. The professionally-designed,
1.3-mile course has been created with more than 100,000 yards of dirt and
features a challenging combination of downhill and off-camber turns. More than
500 riders are expected for the event, which is hosted by Wine Country
Motocross.
Bike Night in
Downtown Petaluma
Downtown Petaluma will turn into a
motorcycle wonderland, Friday night, May 16. Following a full day of AMA
practice and qualifying at Infineon Raceway, head to Petaluma Blvd. in
downtown Petaluma for the 4th annual Bike
Night. The evening features bike-only parking and extended business hours for
local restaurants/shops.
Motorcycle Demo
Rides and Bike Displays
Motorcycle demo rides will be
offered by manufacturers KTM. There will also be a display from the Gary Davis
collection of vintage race bikes and custom bike
builders.
AMA Autograph
Session
An autograph session will take place
on Sunday from 11:40 a.m.-12:40 p.m. with top AMA riders like Mat Mladin, Ben
Spies, Jamie Hacking and Ben and Eric Bostrom. Riders will be available for
autographs behind their haulers.
Track
Talk
Race fans are invited to The Pulse
entertainment area behind the main grandstand for intimate question-and-answer
sessions with top riders from the AMA Pro Racing Series. Track Talk sessions
will take place on Saturday at noon and Sunday at 11 a.m.
Speedway Children’s
Charities Motorcycle Auction
Signed memorabilia from some of the
top AMA riders will be up for bid at the 5th annual Motorcycle Charity Auction.
All proceeds benefit needy youth
groups in Sonoma
County through Speedway
Children’s Charities. The auction will take place on Sunday at 12:15
p.m.
Live Music by the
Unauthorized Rolling Stones
The Unauthorized Rolling Stones are
a tribute band to one of the all-time greatest bands, The Rolling Stones. These
rock and rollers will perform behind the main grandstand on The Pulse stage
throughout the day on Sunday.
Motorcycle Art
Show
Enjoy a wide variety of
motorcycle-themed art in the Infineon Technologies Business Center, which is located directly across
from the Wine Country Winner’s Circle in the main paddock. Hours are 9 a.m.-approximately 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday and
admission is FREE.
AAA Designated Driver Program
Come by the AAA Designated Driver
Program booth to become a designated driver for your group. Just fill out a
pledge card — under the direction of the AAA — and receive a free bottle of
smartwater, which is also one of the program’s sponsors.
Speedway Children’s
Charities Booth
Visit the Speedway Children’s
Charities booth to learn more about the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway.
Speedway Children’s Charities is dedicated to raising money for needy youth
organizations in Sonoma County, and has distributed more than $2.6
million since 2002.
