Kawasaki ZX-9R - by Tom Montano
Top Speed 167 mph

Tom Montano
Winner and podium finisher in various AMA Pro Thunder races, top ten finisher at the Isle of Man Jr. TT, and known as the Dogger. Presently, Tom is competing in the AMA Pro Thunder class at a track near you and maybe the Formula USA Sportbike class, who knows?

I heard talk that the others didn't love the ZX-9R. They just don't know how to appreciate the green monster. I remember that only a couple years ago the ZX-9R seemed like a small open classer but now it is the biggest of the bunch of open classers. I still enjoy this bike very much and my lap times proved it. The brakes didn't have the good feel like the other two did, but I could still stop, no problem. As far as comfort is concerned the 9R is the best; you can ride this thing all day, every day. Sure the suspension is a little plush, but once again, why bother? You're never going to ride that fast on the street anyway. And if you do race the ZX-9R or any of the other two, you will replace the shock and change the forks around. I liked the Kawi, and it did do its job and didn't scare me.
