The 2006 Arai Profile
This new Arai has a more "organic" shape to it and bests the Quantum II by being a little narrower and more aerodynamic. I first used this helmet in a 100-mile turnpike trip and experienced less wind noise and less buffeting that the old Quantum II.
Thanks to a new production material this helmet is also lighter, and according to Arai, because the exterior is so tough, they could afford to make the interior a little softer for maximum comfort. That interior is also removable for washing.
The exterior vents are reconfigured as is the chin venting, the front features a dual position vent for airflow that features a carbon filter, it'll either vent your face, or your shield, to prevent fogging.
The "Black Frost" colored helmet was dispatched to Taylor Blair of Blair Graphix for a little personalizing. Taylor was responsible for the paint and graphics on the Clarkie Tuono (motorcycle porn) and came highly recommended. He added the "eyes" in decal format and turn around time was quick, pain free and looks a superb job too.

2WF.com Hall of Fame Inductee - Arai Quantum II
OK, so we don't actually have a hall of fame - If we did though, this would be the first inductee. Arai has always stepped up and protected my freak head (the content, not the shape) and this has basically kept me safe from being even sillier than I am, due to a knock too many.
The above Quantum was a replacement for a replacement. The original "eyes" helmet was destroyed at the 2005 Triumph 650 intro when I highsided onto my head at well over 100mph (of which I walked away, marbles intact). Its replacement saw active duty a couple of weeks later on a 2005 Yamaha R6 intro at Willow Springs. Again I highsided and landed on my bonce, yet again I walked (hobbled) away, again gray matter intact - God Bless Arai.
There's a good reason why Arai tops the JD Power list for the last seven years for customer satisfaction. The above has lasted for 18 months (no hits) and is being retired, a job well done.
