I know that a lot of you are saying; Why the post about Harley's? Since you asked nicely I'll tell you (if you didn't ask nicely then cover your eyes). I happen to like them. I used to sell them and I even owned one. There is a time and place for all kinds of bikes and each one has their strong points and weak points, except choppers, I just can't get into choppers.
So I get this tip in my email saying I should check out the CARB (California Air Research Board) site because they have posted up the latest Harley certifications. Oh? I think to myself.....why not go take a look.
Here is what I found out:
V-ROD's look to have ABS available as an option. They will all be 1247cc this year instead of some being 1130cc. At least this is my understanding.
There are some anniversary paint schemes too, although I have no idea what they will be.
Some of the anniversary models (FLSTC, FLSTN, FXDL) are listed as having an EIM (Equivalent Inertial Mass) 10kg heavier than their non-anniversary counterparts. Doing the conversion math in my head....let's see....carry the one.....divide by 5......times 2......mix it up with the square root of pi...type in 10kg equals ? pounds.....oops, wasn't supposed to say that...yes I used an online conversion website, geez you guys are harsh.
Anyway the important thing is 10kg is about 22lbs. Now I'm not sure what HD is putting on their anniversary bikes but 22lbs of paint and chrome seems like alot. Maybe ABS? Maybe not? I don't know.
New models called FXCW (Rocker) and FXCWC (Rocker Custom) seem to be coming out. No details though.
New model called a FLSTSB. This would be the big springer but what does the "B" stand for? Should mean the bike is blacked out which would be cool looking. We'll see.
Also some anniversary paint schemes on the XL1200 Custom and XL1200 Low
If you want to check it out yourself go here:
CARB
I'll of course keep the 3 of you who like Harley's posted as soon as I know more.
