(Stamford, Connecticut—August 9, 2007) … EASY RIDER Italian Style Festival and Bike Meet featuring Racing Aces will be held at Stamford Museum & Nature Center Sunday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All makes and models of motorcycles are welcome! The festival also celebrates the opening of the museum’s new exhibition, The Motorcycle, Italian Style: Riding the Curves with MV Agusta, featuring the Gary & Connie Kohs Collection. The exhibition is being sponsored by Cliff’s Cycle Revolution, and made possible with support from the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism.

The museum’s first open air bike show, open to all makes, models and years of motorcycles, is sponsored by Stamford-based American Iron Magazine and RoadBike, and has been organized by the magazines’ publisher and AMA Hall of Famer Buzz Kanter along with staff from Stamford Museum & Nature Center and Cliff’s Cycle Revolution.

Trophies will be awarded at this open-air show at 3:30 p.m. by the staff of American Iron Magazine and RoadBike. The festival will include Italian food provided by Enzo’s Italian Fine Food of Stamford, music by Odissea, and authentic Italian dancing. A live auction including ca. 1954 MV Agusta 125 TR (Turismo Rapido) will be held at 2 p.m. From noon to 2 p.m. visitors can get t-shirts and postcards autographed by 2006 Bonneville 1000cc land speed record holder Roosevelt “Rosey” Lackey, 11-year-old motocross champ Wilson Fleming of New Canaan, winner of the 88 cc junior division at the 2006 New England Regional Championships, and other Racing Aces.

Bring your cameras as there will be photo opps with bikes and leather jackets. Kids of all ages can stop by the EASY RIDER tattoo parlor for “lick and stick” tattoos and join in free family-friendly activities and crafts. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation will give safety demonstrations throughout the day.

Visitors won’t want to miss a visit to the Bendel Mansion Museum Galleries to see the vintage motorcycle exhibition featuring more than 30 vintage MV Agusta motorcycles.
