PARK HILLS, Mo. – It was a solid day for KTM racers at the Lead Belt National Enduro for Round 8 of the AMA National Enduro Series. FMF KTM Factory Racing Team’s Kacy Martinez wrapped up the Women’s A/B Championship one round early with a class win, while her Pro Class teammate Russell Bobbitt earned 2nd overall to carry his championship points lead into the final round of racing. SRT/KTM rider Steward Baylor Jr. earned his second Pro Class victory, where he moved into 2nd place in the championship standings.

Held in Park Hills, Missouri, the penultimate round saw ideal track conditions after almost two days of rainfall leading up to Sunday’s racing. Most of the course soaked up the much-needed rain but a few mudholes still lingered throughout the woods on race day.

Steward Baylor came out swinging to capture the test-one victory aboard his KTM 450 XC-F. From there, the South Carolina native didn’t miss a beat as he went on to capture three additional test-wins and two 2nd place finishes throughout the six-test competition.

Bobbitt got off to a slow start, where he finished 4th place on the opening test. Bobbitt continued to improve with each test as he powered his KTM 250 XC-F into 3rd place for the next three sections. On test four, the four-time AMA National Enduro Champion captured his first win of the day after overcoming a small crash on the waterfall crossing. Bobbitt was able to capture a close 2nd-place finish on the sixth and final test, which ultimately gave him 2nd overall for the day.

Bobbitt: “I’m feeling alright about 2nd place today. Obviously I would like to be in the center of the box but I’m heading into the final round with the points lead and I’m looking forward to a good race in Tulsa!”

Bobbitt holds a 19-point lead over S. Baylor in the Pro Class Championship Standings as the series heads into its final round in October.

SRT/KTM rider Cory Buttrick earned a top-five overall finish after a consistent string of top-five finishes, including a 3rd place finish in the final test of the day.

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Kacy Martinez clinched the 2016 AMA National Enduro Championship after securing her 5th victory of the season in the Women’s A/B Class. Martinez led her class the entire day while maintaining an impressive position inside the top 50 overall out of over 400 riders.

Martinez: “I couldn’t be happier about winning this championship! I would like to thank the entire KTM crew for all their support and hard work, and for believing in me. I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get to this point and I’m so thankful for everyone that has supported me along the way.”

CROSS FORK, Pa. – Round 6 of the AMA National Enduro Series took place on Sunday with the Rattlesnake National in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania. It was a rough ending to the day for FMF KTM Factory Racing Team’s Russell Bobbitt after a pair of crashes on the final test resulted in a 6th place finish in the Pro Class. Despite finishing outside the top three for the first time all season, Bobbitt still maintains the lead in the Overall National Championship points with three rounds remaining in the series.

Following two consecutive overall wins, Bobbitt came into Round 6 with high confidence as he set out for three-in-a-row aboard his KTM 250 XC-F. The Rattlesnake National Enduro showcased dry and rocky terrain, grass track sections and very dusty conditions that made for low visibility and scarce passing opportunities. The first test of the day presented a grass track section, where Bobbitt finished in 4th amongst a tight-knit group of front-runners. From there, the top riders continued to post close times through the first five tests and Bobbitt maintained a consistent position throughout the day.

Heading into the sixth and final test, Bobbitt sat only four seconds behind Josh Strang in the 2nd place position. Bobbitt was well on his way to extending his five-race podium streak when he succumbed to the rocky conditions, crashing twice in the final test.

“I was feeling good all day,” Bobbitt said. “I knew the final test was going to be the rockiest of the day and I ended up crashing twice. My front wheel was out of alignment so I had to stop and hit it on a tree to straighten it out, which lost important time.”

After six rounds, Bobbitt now holds a nine-point advantage over Grant Baylor in the Overall National Championship Standings.

After winning the final test of the day, SRT/KTM rider Steward Baylor Jr. put his KTM 450 XC-F atop the Pro Class podium with a 3rd place finish for the day. Baylor now holds 3rd place in the Overall National Championship Standings after six rounds of racing.

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Kacy Martinez was forced to sit out of Round 6 due to a fractured radius and ulna in her left arm, which was sustained during the last round of GNCC in June. Martinez is expected to return back to racing at Round 7 of the National Enduro Series, where she will continue to vie for the Women’s Class Championship.

MENAHGA, Minn. – It was a KTM podium sweep on Sunday for Round 5 of the AMA National Enduro Series in Menahga, Minnesota. FMF KTM Factory Team rider Russell Bobbitt rode to his second-straight victory in the Pro Class, while SRT/KTM rider Steward Baylor Jr. finished 2nd and KTM-mounted Jesse Groemm rounded out the overall podium in 3rd. FMF KTM Factory Team rider Kacy Martinez captured her fourth win of the season in the Women’s Class, besting her competition by over 7 minutes.

The Huntersville National Enduro provided a physically demanding course with plenty of sand, fast whoops and tough sections, which lent a hand in Bobbitt’s success. In test one, Bobbitt powered his KTM 250 XC-F into a 2nd place finish, just behind KTM-mounted Jesse Groemm. Bobbitt maintained his consistency with another 2nd place finish in test two, where he jumped into the overall lead early on.

Bobbitt put forth a flawless ride in test three to capture his first test-win of the day. In test four, Bobbitt went down and lost about 10 seconds to KTM Support rider Steward Baylor, who went on to capture the test win, followed by Bobbitt in 2nd. Bobbitt bounced back to capture the final two test wins of the day, thus capturing his second-straight victory of the season.

“The track today was a physical one and there were tons of stumps on the side of the trail so you really had to be on your toes and plan your corners well,” Bobbitt said. “The black sandy loam made for amazing traction and with only one major mistake all day I rode a solid race.”

KTM Support rider Steward Baylor finished a close 2nd in the final test, powering his KTM 450 XC-F into 2nd place overall for the day. KTM-mounted Jesse Groemm finished 3rd overall with one test win behind him.

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Kacy Martinez had a flawless day of racing as she won four of five tests in the Women’s Class. Martinez had a great start to the day, winning the first two tests of the day aboard her KTM 250 XC-F. From there, Martinez kept the momentum going and won the next two tests to extend her lead substantially over the rest of the field.

In the fifth and final test of the day, Martinez finished 2nd place in the Women’s Class, where she went on to capture her fourth win of the season at Round 5.

“I’m really bummed that I didn’t win the last test but with the lead that I had going into it, I made the decision to ride conservative and finish,” Martinez said. “It feels great to get my fourth win this year!”

In the first test of the day, Bobbitt powered his KTM 250 XC-F off to a great start, ultimately finishing only two seconds behind Jesse Groemm for the 2nd place position. From there, Bobbitt went on to capture the next three test-wins over KTM Support Rider Steward Baylor, who finished 2nd in all three.

Bobbitt closed out the final two tests of the day with a solid 2nd place finish, where he was able to secure his first win of the season at his home race in Georgia.

“The Georgia terrain is home to me and I had a blast riding the fresh trail out there,” Bobbitt said. “It feels good to finally get my first win of the season and to take over the points lead. I’m looking forward to keeping this momentum rolling to the end of the season.”

Baylor ended the day on a strong note as he captured the sixth and final test-win of the day to secure 2nd overall on his KTM 450 XC-F. His teammate, Cory Buttrick, put forth a consistent top-three performance all day long to earn 3rd overall aboard his KTM 450 XC-F.

“Both of our FMF KTM Factory riders ride near perfect today and we can see it on the results,” said Team Manager Antti Kallonen. “As we are reaching the halfway point of the season it is good to see Russell taking over the points lead.
